    Sounds far too good to be true…..

    I have been working under a brolly.

    Sadly the job is in Bradford, not Wilmslow, so £15 a day fuel bill (and rising rapidly!). However, negotiated 7-3, so miss the traffic, which is a real bonus.

    Don't forget, going from contractor to permie means you can claim back all the IR35 tax you've paid so far.

    If you see any other 45k permie jobs in the Wilmslow area, let me know. According to online calculators 45k equates to £25/hour outside IR35 (or £34 inside), which is what some of the contracts in the North West seem to be offering. May as well go and work abroad for similar money but much better lifestyle.

    They are using contractors as back-fill - hence arm was twisted.

    Given the current climate, and not enough months behind me to keep going, yes, very pessimistic!

    Yes, it is grim.

    However.... they were going to replace me with another permie, and as permie money goes, mid 40's is not a bad deal given the economic doom coming our way.....
