    I understand what you are saying, but isn't that a bit like the Pope saying 'come on guys, we have to do something about child sex abuse by priests, otherwise the collection plates will be lighter'

    I think Field is trying to apply their self-serving standards in order to persuade MPs to do what he wants for less self-serving reasons.

    I.e. he has come to the same conclusion as you (but he's not so bad).
