Depends on if they were killed humanely or not
Can't tell you how many I've shot over the years - Greys of course.
I've eaten a fair few as well. - Squirrel Korma is lovely.
They are a nuisance - rip the bark from trees, and egg the eggs from songbird nests, and of course qas their numers increase, as does their territory and red squirrel numbers decrease.
Therefore I shoot them for conservation.
OK for every one I shoot another comes in, but then I shoot that one as well - and thats less to move into red territory and more chance for the songbirds.

Urban foxes, squirrels and parakeets don't have any predators.
Likewise neither do the deer or rabbits in the parks near me hence the reason they are culled.

I had a fried squirrel once, our power went off for 3 days and just tripped out every time we tried to switch it back on, eventually we found a rather surprised looking dead squirrel in the loft with its little teeth still gripping the cable that feeds my shower.
I recycled this story from an older thread, just doing my bit you see.

TBH, it just seems to be another publicity stunt by the RSPCA. And just who in the newspaper thought it was "in the interest of the public" to report on it. Haven't they got more important news to be chasing ....no, strike that, they obviously haven't.
