Remember the Coal Board's adverts "Come home to a living fire"?Originally posted by zeitghostDon't worry; Meibion Glyndwr torched it for you anyway...
They were good like that.
The graffiti in my local pub went:
"Come home to a living fire.
Buy a cottage in Wales!"

Bizarre. I went to Scotland on holiday in 1976. It did indeed rain and I was amazed that they had things like green grass. When I got back to Birmingham, everything was okay for us because we put out all the scrub fires with water from Wales.Originally posted by zeitghostIt's the last decent summer I can remember.
I went to Scotland on holiday.
It rained.
When I got back to Wales, most of the land around the Heads of the Valleys road appeared to be on fire...
No change there then.
Are you sure you're not Spartacus?

I went on holiday to wales.
Visited the Elan valley because one of the flooded villages was exposed.
Had a great holiday.
Wasnt sure if I left the gas on in the caravan when we left though.

I've come over all teary eyed for the mid-70s. Who else agrees with the New Economics Foundation that 1976 was the best year ever? Ah, those long, hot summer days.Last edited by Lucifer Box; 4 April 2008, 09:54.

Maybe someone called him Mr. T.The defendant came through and started giving the security staff abuse, calling them 'white trash' and holding a medallion chain.
He was a 6ft 2in, black, dark-skinned male, very large, very muscular, wearing blue jeans and a long-sleeved tight top
