I always thought the divide was more West/East? Though as you pointed out, East has got some real gems like Dulwich Village. And my house.

Nah.. some wood jockey told him south of the river was a warzone, so Tom moved to Stratford....

Has Dulwich Village still suffer from Tom Cruise? Once he is gone it will be perfect...Originally posted by tay View PostI am guessing he has never seen Dulwich Village either, beats anything north of the river. Has HRH always been this much of an ignorant twerp?

I think London should become a seperate country - borders at the M25. And only those who live inside can work there. Like switzerland. It would certainly cut down on the carbon footprint.

LOL, excellent!Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostI love London because....
...it makes me feel big and clever when I pay £500,000 for a bedsit, £5 for a cup of tea, sit in traffic for 3 hours to travel 2 miles, and then get stabbed in the neck by the local druggies on my way home from work.
You forgot to include that the weather in London is always really great and hot thanks to the smog cloud which traps the heat in.
+1

Half of it is council estate (Not particularily bad one though) and hald is actualy quite exclusive (Old village, detached houses etc etc), and it's surounded by parks (Wimbledon, richmond).Originally posted by SueEllen View PostRoehampton is a bit nasty. I mean the area is just one big council estate.
Though they've got that dodgy drug rehab place - the priory, full of low lives ;-)

- The best gigs are here
- There's loads of options, workwise
- You earn more - and if you're smart - you don't necessarily pay much more than living in other cities
- It's a travel hub, no seriously long treks to the airport
- All the major shops, national and specialist, are here
- You'd have friends where ever you lived
- You just can't get to them as the tube shuts at midnight
- It's overcrowded
- Nothing stands the test of time
- Not many warehouses in central London
- There are loads of office jobs
- OK you got me on that one - but the cheap houses are postage stamps
- Terminal 5
- Mail order
Sorry, I just felt in an argumentative mood
Seriously though everywhere other than London has everything listed there. People keep telling me that I need to "live in London while you are young". Yes, I may do at some point in the future...wouldn't mind gigging there however everyone should also not live in London while they are young.
