I got one from here
Very good quality - very good value - 100% memory foam (some companies put a layer of memory foam on top of a regular mattress).
Never had a better night's sleep.

What you rerally need...
I got to page three of this thread and thought, WTF, don't any of you know what you need to do for a bad back?
Bad backs are caused by poor posture and lack of exercise to those back muscles

Go for a waterbed...much better for the back. Hygenic (sp) as well.
You can get dual zones, so your cell can be firm or soft, and your partner's can have their own cell comfort as they like.
And each cell can be heated independently. I like mine at 35 deg C, whereas Mrs BGG likes hers at 29 deg C.

I had a bad back - got a sleepezee brompton backcare mattress, 1000 pocket springs. It's bloomin marvellous, completely sorted all sleep discomfort. Not cheap though*.
A medium-firm mattress takes a bit of getting used to, but don't skimp on shoes or mattress/bed quality - as someone once said, you're in one or the other all day, every day.Last edited by realityhack; 17 March 2008, 23:50. Reason: *Actually - just checked prices & quite reasonable now, £250-300 kingsize.

Tempur is stupidly hot - retains heat, just about bearable in winter - horrible in summer. I always wake up with backache on ours as well and I don't have a bad back - I've actually been getting a better nights sleep squashed in my daughter toddler bed with her while she has been poorly and lonely than I get on the Tempur!!

My back is really bad at present, so thinking about it.....
Just wondering if it is a wise move, or not!

I bought a Waterlattex one a few years back, which is mid-range. Helps by back no end, and would recommend.
Double for £279 at the moment if you shop around.
