Got a solicitor to witness my signature on a doc a month or so ago. Didn't charge me a thing, but then his office is just across the corridor from the ClientCo I'm at, so I took up about 45 seconds of his time. Probably couldn't be arsed with the paperwork, or had a good breakfast or something.

My Thai bride has arrived by DHL and I have to sign for her.

I got a notary who's also a solicitor to witness a document a couple of weeks ago. £20 cash for about 20 mins work on a beat-up old manual typewriter (who still uses those?!?!?). He's in Northern Ireland though so might be out of your way.
Apostille in London took longer and cost more.
Try looking around for a cheaper notary?

Nope must be a Notary and must then be sent away to be apostilled.

I thought they had to charge £5 per document? I believe it is a legal requirement for all solicitors...Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostJust been getting prices for a Notary Public to witness to docs. £180/hr
Almost makes SAP look cheap.
Anyone here earning more than £180/hr in IT?
How many documents do you have?
