Since minimum temperatures occur at night, its easy to explain night hotspots as: (i) urban heat islands (especially Manchester and London and to a lesser extent Swindon and Oxford) and (ii) the moderating effect of the sea (all coastlines, especially Atlantic facing ones).
Daylight sunshine hours seem to generally follow topology, since the Mendips and Exmoor have significantly less sunshine than their surrounding lowland areas. The opposite may also be true. Bothy Vineyard, established twenty-nine years ago by Roger and Dorothea Fisher, continues an ancient tradition of wine making in the Vale of the White Horse, Oxfordshire, dating back at least to medieval times.
The excellent microclimate, warm sandy soils, long ripening season and mature vines help produce wines of consistent depth and high quality which have won many awards.

Think I'll checkout property there. Who needs Spain for a warm sunny home when I have this on my doorstep.
