    The seemingly good result was based more on the fact that the dummy placebo pills produced less of an effect in these patients, rather than on any notable positive response to the anti-depressants themselves.

    eh? The drugs worked better than the Placebo, therefore it doesn't work?

    FFS!

    This could just be poor BBC reporting but this research sounds like absolute rubbish, having worked on the inside and studied the data, these medications do work. The problem is the way they are prescribed for long term use.
