When I was working up there all the EDS contractors had block bookings at the Marriott (now you know where your tax dollars go!) I moved out into the Holiday Inn as a lot of them were boring farts.

This is on Osborne Road: http://jesmondhotel.co.uk

Jesmond is a 5 min Metro ride from the city centre itself, or 3 quid in a taxi. Or a 15 min stagger.. Is your night out is going to be on the quayside, around the Bigg Market, city centre..?

That's a very nice hotel, stopped there last November when I went to a Squeeze gig at City hall.
You can get some good (cheap) deals on ith through laterooms.com (I did )

Travelodge ideal, but full, as is the Travelinn. Jurys and other central ones are either well over £100 per room, or 2 night min stay.

Some of my friends are on a budget (teacher with a divorce) hence need to keep costs reasonable.

Can anyone suggest any hotels? Must be twin rooms, us lads are not friendly enough for any doubles!
