    Missed payment

I missed a payment to my Egg card once.

All my fault, just a mix up with my direct debit details. I paid a £25 charge and I think this is the one and only thing keeping me alive with Egg. For years I've paid off ~ £1K a month without a penny of interest.

Anyway I stopped using Egg recently and switched to Barclaycard Platinum with cashback. I reckon I'll make £300 from cashback this year

I've never seen a bus driver using sat nav either...

You are right pisces, they've screwed this up. For the record, Egg was always allowed to operate independently of Prudential (even though it owned 80% of its shares), then Prudential bought the rest and decided to integrate it into its own portfolio. Then it fell into problems and the ever increasing 'urge' to outsource/offshore, culminating in the complete transfer of its IT/call centres to Capita late last year. At the same time, again to 'add value' to the shareholders (increase dividends), they sold the credit card to Citigroup. Seems like Prudential has lost the plot completely, shame about that as it was a very well-known company and a good insurance provider.

Quite a shame really. I've had some really good dealings with Prudential in the past. A company I once held in high regard.

Looks like they subbed out their CC buisness to a bunch of buffoons.

    We'd like to say sorry

Unfortunately, our site is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later or select one of the options below.

The good news is that you can still apply for an Egg Card online now. Just complete the short application and we will e-mail you back as soon as we can.

Good job I didn't want to apply for a card then

I did some security work at egg about 3 years ago. I was subbed out there as a permie. Hated the place. All open plan in what are nothing more than warehouses with floors in (no windows in most buildings). Noisy as hell. I've worked in quieter bus stations.

When it comes down to it Egg has done alot of damage to their image doing this, people dont trust them anymore and other low risk customers they got red of wont be interested in the other products Egg offer such as savings and mortgages. IMO Egg screwed up and it will cost them alot financially in lost business.

Had my first ever phishing email 'from' Egg today. Nearly caught me out as usually they're from banks I don't deal with, so very easy to spot!

I wonder if it's a coincidence, or someone has sold on the Egg client database.
