Capello ready to leave Beckham out of squad

David Beckham looks as though he will have to wait for his 100th England cap after Fabio Capello told his inner circle that he intends to leave the former Real Madrid midfielder out of his first squad to face Switzerland at Wembley on Wednesday week. Capello names his 22-man squad on Saturday and Beckham is not expected to be on the list.

The Italian will attempt to speak to Beckham this week before making a definitive decision but has privately argued that the 32-year-old cannot be fully match-fit, having not played a competitive game since late November.
