How long to get first contract ?

Hi,

I've decided to take the leap into contracting, and handed my notice just under 2 weeks ago.

I've been throwing out my CV to all and sundry and have had some interest, but not even so much as a telephone interview as yet, although i've been told by one agency that the customer will be giving feedback re an interview on Monday.

I must admit, i am getting a bit nervous though, having the usual bills to pay !

Is this a normal experience ? Does it take some time to get a contract normally ?
