Actually guys, myself and my business partner have formed a consultancy here in the Netherlands (Amsterdam based). We are conducting meetings with recruitment agencies here, both to find possible partnerships and to contract our own services..
We have meetings at the moment which have the potential to lead to projects which would mean we would sub-contract some work; we have two holding companies and a main B.V (equivalent to a UK Limited), accountant and legal representation.
The main skills we would be looking for are C#, SQL Server, Biztalk and Sharepoint... I'll post a proper company profile in the relevant forum, but for now if anyone is interested feel free to PM me here....
Ok, I tried Permiedom... learned to cope with meetings, meetings to discuss what we agreed in last weeks meetings, re-arranged meetings to decide if we all agreed on the outcome of the last two meetings...
Now, I am back 'self employed'...
I now repent, and seek the forgiveness of the board ...
6 months then they can sack you for no reason whatsoever and they've had a Contractor on the cheap for those 6 months which they probably would have renewed you for anyway.
Why aren't you looking at contracts in those two places just down the road from you who use a huge number of contractors?
I am, believe me, but Spring seem to have the bank sewn up, and they are hard to penetrate.
If you know of the agents for the other place, would be very grateful for a PM....

Mcquiggd – you are not the only one who did this, unfortunately I dipped into permie land a couple of times, each time I end up kicking myself for doing it and wasting my time and effort like that… few years back I was saying, when I’ve paid for everything (Kids uni/house etc) and have a good sum of money, I’d take a little job locally and enjoy what’s left of my life… but now, am thinking no way, I really can’t see myself working for an employer ever again!!! *sigh* never say never, but if I ever come here and ask the board if I should take a permie job, please kick me hard!!
