Ahem....I know I always lower the tone, and I do apologise for that.....but does anyone else find that when they eat chip shop fish their, erm, private areas smell of it?
I eat salmon all the time, and trout, and nice fresh tuna steak etc and I'm fine. But one bit of battered cod... Not sexy.
I always say 'put the salt and vinegar on the chips THEN put the mushy peas on'
I agree.
If you put the vinegar on first and let the chips absorb it, then add the salt so that by the time you apply the salt you have a lake of vinegar UNDER the chips. Any salt not reaching a chip will find its way down to the vinegar and if you dip the chip into this vinegar lake before moving it to your mouth you get the benefit of both.
