SallyAnn,
No trouble with the band, works well - having it adjusted later this month.
I eat small amounts at each meal - difficult sometimes in the mornings but mostly okay.
It just forces me to eat slowly and limits my intake.
I would recommend it as a last resort - drastic maybe but it's my life, my body.
Location....
Well I on a Sox gig for a large Asian car company.... yep you guessed it.
Regards
Tony

Hi TinglesOriginally posted by Tingles View PostYep, very sad for the family, and a wasted life....
I've probably been dieting for 40 years - ever since I was put on a diet by my quack at 5 years old
You would have thought after 40 years experience I'd be pretty good at it? - but no...
I had a lapband operation last year in Belgium - lost around 5 stones got around another 5 to go.
Easy option? - it's a matter of opinion....
I feel good & a lot healthier - and paid for it myself....

How have you found life since the band was fitted then? Have you had any problems with it?
Can you eat/drink much?
Sal

very bazaar indeedOriginally posted by TimberWolf View PostOn reflection you also need protein to survive. But realistically a small amount of protein and minerals are almost always to hand, from worms, seaweed etc. But I can’t decide which would be the more bazaar scenario: a 70 Stone person surviving for 6 months without significant food intake, or a 60 Stone person found starved to death. Which is it? Enquiring minds need to know…

A viable plan B no doubt. Seriously though do laxatives come in different strengths? When you say industrial strength are they the same as taking loads of the normal "I feel a little full" strength ones?Originally posted by Ardesco View PostI have another alternative.
Industrial strength laxatives. tulip it all out before it can be absorbed by your body!!!!

How about this as an alternative?
They lack the self-discipline required to control their urges.

I can see how people could get that big.
You start off chubby - everyone loves you, life is great.
End up fat and 20 stone - everyone still loves you!! Wow - you can keep getting away with this, brilliant!!
Life is cool, you can't get enough grub down your neck!!
So you keep going, keep eating, keep putting on a couple of stones a year, until you get to be about 26 stone, and even just walking down the street becomes exhausting.
Then you start making excuses for why you can't go out - you're poorly of some description. But you're not really poorly - you're just knackered! It's tiring just getting ready.
You go out less and less...
....then you give up. This is the biggenning of the end. You want to eat all day to keep you amused and comfort you...but with no exercise you go from putting on 2 stones per year to 5 stones per year.
And your weight grows and grows and grows.
Really heart breaking

They say people can survive without food for weeks. Do you think a 70 Stone’r could go for months or more without food? I admit the experiment is inhumane and participation must be strictly voluntary, for example by describing it as an all you can eat holiday on Mars Bar Island.Originally posted by Ardesco View PostErm I mean it would be a worthwhile social experiment that ought to be recorded to ensure that the evidence of the experiment is not lost.

Hmm that would make good TV...Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostI wonder how long she would last if she was stuck on a desert island with no food (but plenty of water)?
