    I find most champagne over-rated.

The nicest I found was in a little vineyard in Trigny some years back - family business. I try to find a reason to go there every year or so.

Didn't like the Laurent Perrier Rosé at all. In fact, I ended up tipping half the bottle down the sink.

Veuve is definately my favourite, being inexpensive for what you get. This year, I've got a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Rosé Réserve, just to see what its like.

As for mixing Dom Pérignon with red bull...........

I've got a magnum of 1990 Pol Roger for Xmas day. I pay a monthly subscription to Lay and Wheeler and they buy wine on my behalf and keep it in their cellars until it's ready for drinking. It takes a while to get going but they deliver around 6 cases of top quality wine a year to go along with all the cheap stuff I get from Sainsbury's et al. It works out just enough for dinner parties and special occasions. The Magnum is one of three bottles I bought through them a few years ago and I've got two left. The first one really was superb.

The Pol Roger is for pre dinner drinks and hors d'oeuvres then we're onto the white Hermitage and Margaux.

I've gone for some of this. Arrived the other day with the other 3 cases

Bottle looks good, but the proof of the pudding is always in the supping...

I bought a few bottles on-line as a present last Xmas for my uncle. They came in a cool presentation box and they also do a "paint tin" with a few small bottles in it which is pretty cool.
