Is the “not as good as it used to be” sentiment (being discussed elsewhere) symptomatic of a recent disturbing trend occurring in these forums, or is it a recurring theme (provably symptomatic of these forums) with no basis in fact?

I’m mostly, but not entirely, gearing the question towards the General and Light Relief forums, not only because these are the only forums used, but also because a little ambiguity can go a long way. Humans love ambiguity, but I digress.
