I just traded for an elite and it's noisier than my 1st one and the refurb that replaced it, I guess they've put super duper turbo fans in them.

Sounds like you want to sign up here - http://2old2play.com

They have organised games where only older gamers can take part.

They've crammed a lot of powerful kit in a small box with little ventilation, the GPU gets too hot the solder melts and it pops off the board, MS answer... glue it in place, I kid you not.

The 3 year warranty and refunds has reportedly cost MS $1bn ...in todays money thats what... £100?

I had the same thing with mine, it would freeze and crash more and more on various games then I got the RROD, MS have given a 3 year warranty to cover this now.

    Very easy to set up.

Leaving a game in the middle depends on the game...

    Not played COD4 yet.

Anyone fancy meeting up on Live for a fight on DOA 4 or Gears of War can PM Me

It's the best game I have ever played bar none, you may find it a little tough going since most people will have a had a lot of practice by then but stick with it as it's easy to pick up, prepare to be pwned a lot though!

I have always played video games since I was a kid but lost interest a few years ago... then Xbox live came about, it really is the best thing to happen in video gaming in recent years.

You don't have to talk to people but if you are going to play a team game then its pretty much essential, don't be shy and every time you meet someone who's on the same wavelength just send them a friends request thus ensuring you play with like minded people whenever you go online, you can have up to 100 people on your friends list so there will always be someone you know, whenever I switch on there is rarely less than 25 people on my list who are playing.

There are plenty of gaming groups for Dad's and older gamers who don't take things too seriously and don't put up with whining yank kids, I'll PM you a good one if you like.

    I'm 36 BTW

Headset is good for things like GRAW and the like, to chat about what's happening.

Resistance fall of man does this (or at least tries to) but the spotty teens are still far too good for me.
