£70 for a trial lesson - 2 winch tows (that'll take you to about 1k feet)
£160 for a full day.
I got my license after about 12 flights.
Oh and about those engines......
....if they stall - you'll be Gliding for your life. It's good to know how to glide.
It's actually quite an early lesson in powered aircraft - How to deal with a stalled engine.

Paragliding is relatively cheep and fun, I keep meaning to learn properly after have a couple of goes in tandem with an instructor.
