That's due to the 'lucky 8-ball' that is at the core of every helicopter's systems.

Fly a single engined plane. Make sure you choose the cheapest one at the cheapest club.

    see here

£70 for a trial lesson - 2 winch tows (that'll take you to about 1k feet)

    £160 for a full day.

I got my license after about 12 flights.

    Oh and about those engines......

....if they stall - you'll be Gliding for your life. It's good to know how to glide.

It's actually quite an early lesson in powered aircraft - How to deal with a stalled engine.

I know two people who've snuffed it in single engine planes. Make sure it's got two engines.

My advice is to start with Gliding. Much cheaper and arguably more fun.

I've got a my Gliding pilots license and I've done many hours in powered aircraft.

You can get your Gliding license very quickly and then pop down your local club for some time in the air. You'll then know whether you like it, if you have the time to enjoy it etc.
How much do gliding lessons cost? Anyway I'd like motors on my transport if I'm not on the ground.

Can I do this while flying? I could set the auto-pilot thingy I suppose.
