Most modern tellies will cope with this, but it's worth checking. I think anything with HD Ready will happen to work with SECAM too.Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostCareful. Frenchies use SECAM for video output and not PAL.
Otherwise it will come up black and white!
Sometimes, only one of the SCART sockets supports SECAM too.
YMMV. HTH.

I have a few French gadgets at home and just use a universal adapter plug that you can pick up at an airport. My sister has a house in France, so maybe as a post-Christmas treat I'll have to get one when I'm over there for New Year...Originally posted by Zorba View PostDo remember the plugs are funny though. Their prices are fairly good, of course. If you want to wait a couple of days, a lad here took my advice and ordered one for his kids - I'll let you know if it shows up.

The OP didn't ask for a cheap one - just asked where to get one from.Originally posted by Cowboy Bob View PostThe cheapest one on there is £280!!! If you're paying more than £180 for the base unit then you're being ripped off.
Bloody users! I meet the functional specifications again, and they still complain...

If you're quick, there might still be some left!

Got mine through GameStation a while back. I put down the £20 deposit to reserve one and received it in 2 weeks. Bear in mind that nearly all the stock goes to people who've reserved them, this is the only way to go IMO.

I got one about a fortnight ago through a contact in Dublin. Apparently the HMV there had loads of them.
