started a topic Embracing Online collaboration systems.

    Embracing Online collaboration systems.

What do you think about innovative real-time collaboration/communication/presence systems like – video conferencing , constant online access through – icq , Skype , net meeting , LCS , and other real-time collaboration environments.

Are we ready to embrace them ?

These systems, more and more each day, allow for constant real-time presence/communication between team members , partners , colleagues etc. Do you think online collaboration is going to be predominant in the near future or not so near one ?

Do you think the workforce, the management styles and culture of the English people ( especially the culture) are actively embracing new real-time presence communications technologies ? Or do you think that the technology is there but it is underused.

Do you think these points are pulling back online collaboration /presence systems ?

An employee/contractor doesn’t want their PM having constant control / connection on the employee/contractor. That would mean that the employee would have to be working ALL the time.

The PM doesn’t want to have the employee/contractor constantly connected because this means the PM has to be working ALL the time.
