    Our biggest problem had they invaded, as in the rest of Europe, was civilian reprisals.
    There were various special units which would have gone to ground to wage a guerrilla war against occupiers, but could they continue fighting if the Germans had machine gunned an entire village each time?

    Then again, when you look at the numbers of our forces its highly doubtful they would have got far from the coast without bogging down.
