It is also fairly simple to obtain a base three number from a base ten number by dividing the number by three, generating a digit from the remainder, and repeating the process with the integer of the quotient to obtain successive digits. For example, we could reverse the example shown above (R stands for remainder):
73 ÷ 3 = 24 R 1
24 ÷ 3 = 8 R 0
8 ÷ 3 = 2 R 2
2 ÷ 3 = 0 R 2
The base ten number 73 is thus converted back to the base three number 2201.
Therefore if we were using base 3 then the resultant confusion would be astronomical as most of our members are either drunk or totally spaced out when posting
Glad to see you passed GCSE maths

1. The "View First Unread" link doesn't always work, it sometimes just puts you on the first post.
2. The page numbering of the forum is a bit odd. It goes 1, 2, 3, 11. Or maybe we're all working in base 3 now.
That's all. Carry on.

It would be good if there was a redirect from the old pages to the new ones - so (e.g. http://forums.contractoruk.com/forum6.html goes to the new URL for light relief).
They all come up in my address bar when I start typing "forum", and it's a pain to have to go to the homepage and navigate!
