Dogs are like people, Dogs have bad days too.
A toothache, a hot day, pack reaction whatever.
It is usually the children that die or suffer when that lovable, soft, well behaved loving pet has a bad day.
What possible reason can there be for wanting a Doberman or a German Shepard as a pet, The knuckle dragging mentality of these status seeking people defies belief, and I am not just talking about the tattoo'd crop haired half wits that grace some of our local council estates.
These animals are dangerous, there is no logical reason whatsoever for keeping one as a pet.
They were bred as working dogs and that is what they should be licensed as.
ownership of these dangerous breeds as pets should be banned.
It might save the lives of a few babies or small children, or at least save a child from having it's face ripped off.
The owner of any dog that attacks a human should be charged with assault, wounding or manslaughter as if they themselves had carried out the attack.
Perhaps if these Idiot dog owners faced five years in prison for GBH or ABH they would buy a budgie for company instead of a Staff or a Doberman.

We agree that dog training classes might be an answer, much better than a blanket ban that hurts the people who are already doing it right. Glad that you came round to the right way of thinking in the end

If we are comparing the lethality of objects, then pens, spectacles, orange-flavoured Tic-Tics, whatever have one important difference to a dog: they are inanimate objects. A dog is quite different, in that respect, I think you'll agree.
And dogs can be, and sometimes are, left to roam free. Also, they can simply get the hump, and then be savage and dangerous, and possibly uncontrollable. I've not heard of anyone being savaged by 10-stone pen before.
I think my POV is further backed-up by the fact that there is no such thing as an inanimate object training class. Dog training classes do exist. QED, and all that.

I don't - My list is designed with the future in mind. i.e. when todays chav grows up and gets a big toothed mucle bound monster. Some of the questions would apply to the scary dog owners of today though.
Personally I would never own a dog that I couldn't kick the sh1t out of if it turned on me. That is why I have this nice deal running with our local vet whereby he gives me all the dogs which are on their last legs. You know the ones that are so old that they sh1t themselves when you pop a crisp packet.Last edited by BoredBloke; 15 August 2007, 12:50.

Why not insist on having their teeth removed. Never heard of somebody being gummed to death or seriously disfigured by excessive saliva.
Some of the following might shed some light as to if these people should own these types of dogs
do you own fake burberry?
have you ever tucked your pants into your socks?
Nike Shocks or Rockports, discuss
What is the correct angle to wear your cap?
Can you use a biro to produce a tatoo for your hands using only the letters l o v e h a t e?
At what point is the diameter of your exhaust too big?
At what point is the Spoiler too big?
At what point are the speakers too big?
Have you ever held down a job for more than a week?
Circle breakfast time 8.00, 9.00, 10.00, 11.00, later than 12.00?
At what age were you excluded from school?
Do you know the names of all of your children?
Do you know all the letters of the alpahbet and can you draw them?
What is the biggest number you know?
How many dads did you have while growing up?

Yeah, a few innocent by-standers will be caught in the cross-fire. But hey, how many people die in road accidents every year?
