The film was pretty rubbish I thought. The TV series got better and better the more they stopped trying to be a comedy.

TV series was better, but, like all of 'em, finally slid inexorably into schmaltz.
The last episode was VERY good, though.
Best TV series: The Good Life. It ended on a high - rare.
