I think the widely accepted phrase is "hairdresser's car" - although that is, of course, hairdresserist.

Most soft tops are either hairdresser's cars or "man in a midlife crisis" cars.

    Flowery air freshener inside it??

(As an aside my wife bought a 'For Her', yes that's what it said on the box, air freshener for her car yesterday. It has a nice girly perfumy smell...)

For me, this and the VW reliability is money better spent.
VW Audi aren't that reliable anymore, check the JD power surveys. Bloke at work has an 03 TT, he's had it about a year, so far repair bills >3k

two wheel drive is a golf in a dress, hence front wheel drive, and not a proper sports car. Front wheel drive cars understeer.

Most metal top convertables use the merc folding roof mechanism (Pegeot 307 has this). But, don't buy the 307 cc, it handles like a blamanche and like all peugeots the build quality is sh1t.

If your wife wants a hard top she has to have a car compromised in design to fit the merc hard top unless you get her the new mx5. It's bullet proof and is woman friendly

    Well there is still time!!

For maximum effect i suggest removing your seatbelt first and making sure that you hit a good solid old fasioned building, something at least 100 years old. Also remember that the magic speed it 80 MPH. Have fun and let us know how you get on!!

Incidentally, I have crashed every car I've ever had. Last one was pretty special... skidded on a wet road into a house and two cars (one of 'em brand new, delivered that morning!), airbags deployed, horn blaring, smoke billowing, had to kick the door open to get out, ten-mile tailback. Not a scratch on me, though!

I love my WRX - not as much as I loved my Evo but it is more practical. Holds the road too well to be real fun but still great to blast round in.

Clippy - WRXes might be Wayne cars but they are def not Waynetta cars (and I'm not just saying it cos I have one - honest!)

1980s rear wheeled mid engine V6 with no ABS and no traction control? I think he likes his wife unparalysed.
