    Compromise.

    Play up the idea of a small, intimate wedding, with your closest family and friends, rather than a huge do with people you don't know / like there.

    When I got married, there were 31 of us there, including bride and groom. Fantastic day, with people I wanted to see there, and no hangers on.

    I live in a coastal town and the missus came home one day day and said there was a martial arts shop in town. When I drove past it, it had blacked out windows and was called "Marital Aids"....

    She said "well I was driving too fast and only got a glimpse at it...

    I did laugh at her!!!!!
