Maybe they can drink some of the milk of human kindness that seems to flow so freely around here

Actually, I'm suprised that there isn't some kind of Flood Aid being organised within the UK, where UK citizens can pop in to branches of banks and make a donation to help the efforts.
After all, many of the UK seemed jolly keen to "be seen" donating to Asia after their Boxing Day tsunami.
Although, perhaps I am being premature, and even as I speak, Asia are arranging flood donations to the UK, to help us out when we need it.
Which is nice and reciprocal.

Think you'll find we have the 'higher ground' actually.I think we should all live together in harmony, I know Northeners are a bit 'special', but we as the South should be take the higher ground as they don't know any better. The North can be kind of like our special cousin.
Bloody cockneys spent all last Summer moaning about having no water. Now they've got some it's all moan moan moan again.
Anyway, I've got 2l bottles of Buxton for sale up here. £5 a pop, you collect!

No, I think it's a call to buy property on a contour of 100m above sea level down South. You never know... Or at least not to buy property on one of the many flood plain-stricken areas that New Lie free up for development.Originally posted by DS23is that a call to arms? invade the nothern heights!

At last, a North/South divide that has nothing to do with socio-economics. Except the fact that we have more to lose than you Northern monkeys...

There will still be hosepipe bans in the South before the year's out.
