IMHO BizTalk is tulip, but there's plenty out there using it and paying good money for those that can design and implement it.
So the question is, is this technology/product going anywhere and is it niche enough to make a very good living at it?

Well its Microsoft stuff, so it has the might of the MS Marketing Engine behind it, I have had a few calls from pimps about it.
You are right though its Access on steroids, and the load balancing is sh*t. Where I put it in we replaced 1 AIX box with 30 Windows boxes for this application.

Depending on how long the contract is, you may end up inadvertantly "specialising" in a cr@p technology as far as pimps are concerned. That's the only drawback I can see really. Personally I wouldn't do it though, it would drive me mad having to deal with something that I didn't enjoy using.
Edit : Just looked it up. OMG it's Access on steroids - http://www.microsoft.com/dynamics/ax.../overview.mspx - steer clear...

Contract for tech you think is sh*t
Got put forward for a contract to Architect a solution for a company, but the technology they have chosen I have worked with before and believe its a pile of poo (it's Microsoft Axapta).
Anyone have any thoughts on this? I will probably accept if I get offered it proper as at the end of the day its a day rate. But wondering if people have been in similar situation before.Tags: None
