    Saw him last at Ronnie Scotts a few years back when he was hosting a new years party there. Spoke to him afterwards but the dirty old bugger was more interested in talking to (and oggling at) my wife!

    Still could knock out good jazz. Told an absolutely obscene joke at the club which made the whole house laugh out loud. Sad loss

    I am truely saddened to hear that George has died.
    Loved his music. He was a great orator and whit. He even had enough humour to sing "what an old codger I am" with the Stranglers.
