    It was always thus...the place I'm at has just gone through the process of teling a whole raft of contractors they woud not be renewed, only now are they realising there will be no one left to do the work... so contractors are being approached at the last minute and offered a renewal

    I hate that! Currently I only want a 3 month contract and they are talking extension already, you can't win.
