Those of you who use Mac what do you use to replace microsoft office suite ?

I run Office 2003 (which I get from work for nowt) under Parallels. I might consider buying the 2008 version of Office for the Mac. If you run Parallels in 'Coherence' mode it's like Office is running as a Mac application that just looks like a Windows app.

And the time from power on to log in is so much better. You can actually work and not worry about it crashing. ...

I take the MAC with me when staying in the hotel and use the remote control to go between iTunes etc.,....very funky cos I am dead lazy...lol

total. The graphics are cool I have the 24" iMac; sit back with the remote scroll through tunes or photos I've taken recently or even a movie with such smoothness in the image - Imagine a PC doing that without sounding like a 747 preparing for take off.

This is what kills me about Windows as well, especially OEM installs loaded with crapware - which of course you can't get rid of because you only get a "restore" disk which restores the OS, drivers, and of course the crapware. My Windows laptop takes around 5 minutes from switch on to being usable, and every additional application installed makes this wait longer.

My other machine, with linux installed, is usable in about 30 seconds from switch on, and considerably more responsive during use as well.

Possibly the one thing I like about Mac OS X 10.4 since moving away from XP as my main platform, is the speed. Even replying to mail is speedy I go back to my outlook and whirrr before it's open, ah another update is required... always intrusion in your day to day working with software updating another security updated required, using OS X 10.4 actually alows me to do my work.
