Just had a "notice of intended prosecution" again from the police's "safety camera partnership" requesting an explanation as to why I cannot remember who was driving the car at the time. Was it me or the missus? I have just replied saying "we were both too pissed to remember"

The verdict on the ECHR case dpp vs Francis is due on 28th this month I belive. If Francis wins you don't have much to worry about. Francis' argument was that it is illegal to force you to declare yourself as the driver because it is a violation of human rights. Because the NIP says tell us who was driving or we fine you £1000 and give you 3 points, you are effectivly forced to own up to the crime rather than use your right to silence.

have a look at the pepipo site (google it i have probably got the spelling wrong) to get a letter template you can send the scamera partnership and get it taken to court. It is likely to get thrown out after the 28th anyway.
