a scorched-earth policy in Iraq!
It will be a much improved place since the Saddam days!
And unlike what the beeb would have you believe not all of iraq has jihadi's walking around trying to convert the non-believers...although given the rather exclusive coverage of the country (good news is no news) its no wonder the brain dead like yourself follow the old "surrender at the first opportunity" mantra

Its one thing fighting a war, its another to shackle your armed forces with so much red tape as to vitually hand victory to your enemy...as occured in Vietnam.

Then again, its probably not wise to set any kind of operations to such a time frame and then stick religiously to that time frame because if the world has learnt nothing from the last couple thousand years of warfare its that you cant run a war to your time table...that is unless you are absolutely prepared to bomb the other side back to the stone age.
Then again we have surrender monkeys like you to chirp from the safety of their computer at home about how evil such an approach would be.
BTW, Ive got some white feathers here for you

Fact is, we are there now and no amount of "he should, she should" will change that fact.
Honestly, some of you make Neville Chamberpain look positively war mongering!

Well, it's like politics innit? IIRC one of the earliest political quotes we have, written on a lump of clay, in cuneform, circa 3000 BC, in translation, is "King Laffingbehind'is'and will reinstall the publics trust in politics."
