According to Welsh legend, that man was Prince Madog ab Owain Gwynedd.

A Welsh poem of the 15th century tells how Prince Madoc sailed away in 10 ships and discovered America.

Apart from being such a piss poor explorer that he actually managed to confuse it with India, he had a ruddy map - or at least one that can be traced to the Chinese explorers who beat him by a good 70 years. Then of course their are the Vikings who beat them all, arriving Newfoundland and North America in the 11th century. Even they were beaten by a good few thousand years by those who walked over the Bearing Straights and when the Vikings/Chinese et all arrived confusingly described them as Native Americans/Indians.

Modern secondary school maths teachers?

My mate this week suggested to 15 year old son that he ask his maths teacher the solution to 1/0 (one divided by zero)

What do you think the answer should be?

It is not indeterminate...my morning coffee has sparked my brain in to life and I now have the answer...it is not infinity and so far the correct answer has not been stated on this thread...
