People lik eyou appealing parking tickets and abusing traffic wardens realy annoy me.
The rules on parking and therefore wardens are there for a reason. The reason is the free flow of traffic for all.
If everyone ignored parking rules there would be chaos.

What do you mean you couldnt park anywhere else? Did you not say there was a convenient Sainsburys car park at a very reasonable 2 quid? Are you too tight or too lazy?

If you don't like th parking restrictions in your area then move.

Stop complaining when it is you that is at fault and stop inconveniencing the rest of us.

Ok may be I didnt explain this well enough, agreed parking tickets are issued for a purpose keep the traffic flowing. In my case though it was a one hour window I couldnt park outside my house that had no impact on traffic flow, in fact the parking restriction was to protect the recidents from people parking then going to the station, but no one ever parked that far from the station.

Just so your clear, the council AGREED with me that the parking restriction for the one hour failed to achieve anything, and they also informed me that it was being dropped in Sept 2007. So I dont feel guilt about anything.

Many times it doesn't make sense though, My mate had the misfortune of Living in Wembley, he lived on a quiet street, but had to pay to park outside of his house (they brought it in while he lived there), Now why should he have to pay to park outside his house? He paid >1500 a year in council tax, it beggars belief. You could say it's to stop people parking to go to the stadium, well if so , why charge for permits for residents? It's just a money making scheme.

I once parked in an uncontrolled street, however the road was fairly narrow, so out of courtesy I placed two wheels on the grass verge, and I got a ticket, absolutely ridiculous.

firstly say the permit had fallen off the windscreen (then if they have taken a picture they still can't prove it wasn't in the car). If the council reject it, take it to the parking appeal service

If you time it until the last minute the council won't respond in time and it will be thrown out (tried and tested).

Yeah thats what they claim, but next to the station is a Sainsbury who charge £2 a day for all day parking, so why anyone would bother parking over a mile from the station outside my house when its that cheap is beyond me and they dont. The parking restrictions on my road are of no use to the residents, the only people who I have seen get tickets on my road are the residents themselves.

Unfortantly the permit applies per car, ie the permit has the cars registration on, so cant claim he didnt see it.

Technically the ticket was correctly issued, but I think it was highly unfair. Considering I pay £125 a year for a permit and when I do want to park outside my house at weekends and evenings I cant as their is no restriction at this time and people park there not for the station but the fecking park that is 3 minutes walk from my house.

that details reason you could have to appeal a ticket and it looks like I dont have a reason to appeal. Just going to have to stump up the cash but will I will be sure to include a fruitly worded letter with the payment. May be drop a line to local paper,
but to be honest I cant be a*rsed, my times worth more than that, but its the principle of the thing.

The only thing that did bring a smile to my face was while I was talking to the warden not 1 but 2 cars took the time to slow up as the drove past, wined their windows downs the first called the warden a 'f**king w*nker' the second shouted 'get a proper job you a*s whole' . I agree in some cases wardens do do a necessary job but in my case they should of been a bit more human.

I always ask " Is your mum proud of you? " .....Always makes me feel better!

Im going to appeal the ticket, decided Im going to have some fun with them My appeal letter will go in a couple of days before the 14 day discount period is up, so that freeze the fine, then then recon appeals are taking around 6-8 weeks at the moment to process Even if I loose the appeal I can appeal again and delay payment again at discount rate.

Ive already written them a very nice letter , my final stance will be to pay the fine but both cheque and parking ticket will see the darkness of my ass crack before I post it And for what its worth I will forward my letters to the local press, they love a cr*p story like this, there very anti wardens

Now, what you need to do is send in an appeal with a copy of the permit, saying it was on the car and the traffic warden missed it.

I appealed against a speeding ticket as it came through 5 and a half months after the alleged offence with no photographic proof just an officers statement saying that I was doing 42 in a 30 zone, I argued that I could not possibly remember doing something that long ago.

They just doubled the fine for having the cheek to appeal, you can’t beat these robots.

The only way to beat these feckers is on a technicality.

They said they would freeze the fine at the lower rate if I appeal, then if my appeal isnt successfull I get another 14 days at the lower rate, and then I can appeal again within 14 days if I dont win the first appeal.

They said at the moment they have a back log of appeals so the appeal process usually take 8 weeks . So Im going to appeal, even if I dont win, I can delay the payment.

Looking at the law though I may get off on a technicallty regarding the signs. Basically the sign outside my house says 'Residents Parking Permit A only' it doesnt give any times that this applies. The parking space is marked out as a bay with no single or yellow line. The only sign that details the time resident parking applies are at the entrance of the controlled parking zone, but looking at the web they can only do it this way if the residents parking spaces have a single yellow line and mine dont, so the sign on my bay to be valid should have detailed the retriction times. Anyone comment on this or am I talking sh*t
