Utrecht has lots of great bars situated in the Old Town - its really good there at the weekends - many Amsterdamers visit there to escape the tourists - if you arrive at the train staion Utrecht seems very Croydonesque and bland - but a ten minute walk takes you to the Old Town which is very gezelich.
I think you will enjoy Utrecht - when are you going ?
There is a red light just outside town where the girls are located on a canal in houseboats - its called the Red Bridge.
Looks like my first trip will be in about three weeks time, the old Town and also the Red Bridge sound like they are worth visiting
So looks like I'll be off to Utrecht (Netherlands) soon, for a total of about 8 weeks, but I'll be splitting it into 3 day chunks so I'm not away from the Family too much.
does anyone know what the night life is like, bars clubs etc ???
