My brother-in-law has fibre (nearly) to his door. He gets his phone, broadband and TV through it. And that was 3 years ago.

Were is he based? Speeds like this are common on the continent, especially in Scandanavia, otherwise it could be an LES which are commonly 100 meg.

Yes, actually it is, my farm is in the middle of a nature reserve in the middle of nowhere and I have fibre...

In some forward thinking countries like say South Korea they take long term look and put fiber into houses: the main cost is that of digging ground.

It doesn't matter whether is it ADSL or SDSL - You cannot get 100Mbps over DSL/broadband. Without going into all the details, it isn't physically possible due to the way data is transmitted.

If he is getting 100MBps in each direction he probably has Long Reach Ethernet connection to his provider, not something available over existing telephone lines.

If you can say correctly what latency is then you can upgrade from tape changer to whatever job snaw is doing

snaw - latency, that brings some memories

    He's either lying or confused.

It isn't physically possible to get 100MBps in either direction over ADSL.

Current approximate count shows that I've got 870 TB+ of data (in uncompressed form).

Those connections in scandinavia have that speed internally.
