Biggest (t)wad in the Galaxy

David Beckham is set to pocket more than twice the amount the rest of the LA Galaxy squad makes in a year put together.
According to official MLS figures, the former England captain will earn $6.5million — or £3.25m — in his first season at his new club.
That compares to an annual wage bill of $2,636,749 for the remainder of the Galaxy’s 26-man squad. (AtW's comment: now that's a produnt way to run a football club!)
Moneybags Becks’ salary dwarfs the team’s lowest-paid player Lance Friesz, who takes home a measly £6,500 a year.
The second-highest earner at Galaxy is USA star striker Landon Donovan, on $900,000 (£450,730).
Real Madrid star Becks, who signed a five-year contract to move to Hollywood back in January, will barely have to break sweat to match other US high rollers.
His closest rival is Chicago Fire’s Mexican legend Cuauhtemoc Blanco, who picks up $2,666,778 (£1,335,116) a year.
Former Aston Villa hitman Juan Pablo Angel, 31, who has just signed for the New York Red Bulls, will bring in $1,593,750 (£797,891).
And American wonderkid Freddy Adu, 17, linked with Manchester United earlier in the campaign, is Real Salt Lake’s highest earner on $550,000 (£275,400) a season.
Midfielder Beckham, who is sporting a new, blond crew-cut, will not make his MLS debut until July. (AtW's comment: yes, he is good at haircuts )
But merchandising and sponsorship deals mean the 32-year-old can expect to earn up to £124m during his stay.
Last month, The Sun revealed Becks and his wife Victoria have given a whopping £600,000 to kids’ charities in the past four years.
