I think you will find that that is my job.

I think Blair will get away with this smelling of roses.
From reading the BBC and other tribute sites it seems there are enough pillocks out there spreading the good news. Half of it is lies or spectacularly blinkered propaganda.

Economy: They say: We have had ten years of stability and economic growth and the UK is better off than it has ever been.
I say: They inherited an economy that was booming. They have managed to put us in the red on all measures and have only kept afloat by borrowing and raiding our pensions. The economy is fooked and when all loans are called in the whole country is going down the pan. The whole world is booming and NL have crippled the UK.
By the time it all comes home to roost Tone will be long gone and probably wont get the blame.
NHS: They say: Look how well it is doing, waiting lists down, money spent etc.
I say: Look at all the money they have wasted, look at how the waiting list figres are massaged, look how many trusts are in debt, look how many nurses are leaving. MRSA. What else do you need.
Northern Ireland: They say: Tone has brokered peace in NI.
I say: Bollocks, John Major brought them all to the table and was quietly negotiating peace when he was ousted. Tone nearly fooked it (twice).

    There is more.
It all makes my blood boil.

I want to see Cameron stand up and make a farewell speach that details all the fook ups Tone and his crones have made.
We have done the list many times, why cant they.

Everybody hated Thatcher, and everybody hated John Major. It makes you wonder to what extent it's the person and to what extent it's the office.

You can't forgive him for Iraq, but aside from that, I don't feel he's been too bad. Would we have been better off with John Major for a few more terms, or William Vague, Ian Duncan Smith or Michael Howard (and they were in favour of the Iraq war). I think we might have been better off with Charles Kennedy, but that was never going to happen.

The weird thing is I have absolutely no memory of Blair before he became PM, I guess everybody was far more focused on getting the hated Conservatives out to pay any attention to the opposition. We already hate Gordon Brown, and he's not even PM yet.
