Bailed out on the watch and took her to Blue Water instead to get pressy, told her to use and abuse my credit card, she did, but at least she got what she wanted. I thought she wanted a watch but what she really wanted was,Originally posted by lexington_spurshello
what happened when she realised the watch wasn't an engagement ring?
was she still pleased with it or did she do a christopher walken in pulp fiction on you?
2 pairs of shoes
1 pair of jeans
1 hand bag
underwear
All in a watch would of cheaper, but she was happy.

I have a 30 year old wind up Omega shiny as the day it was new. It’s accurate to 1/5th second a week. Last week I thought it had gone wrong but in fact it turned out that the radio controlled clock had lost three minutes due to radio interference.

You can pick up Gucci, or Tag, or Rolex, at a very good price in a little alley just off Patpong II.

I wear a Breitling Navitimer. The circular slide rule and stop watch I find useful in all sorts of odd situations. Had it for a very long time. Instruments for Professionals.
It is correct you need a certain build to wear one. If you're a thin streak of nothin' dragging your arm along like the hunchback of Notre Dam looks a little silly.
Being a cheapskate I maintain it myself. There again, I can.

The ad campaign obviously works.Originally posted by Joe BlackBut you never actually own a Patek Philippe. You merely take care of it for the next generation.
If I had the cash now that I had 20 years ago I'd have a Patek annual. As it is son will just have to slum it with my Rolex datejust I've had for the last 20 years (and father 15 years before me). Mind you it's far more likely I'll have flogged it pay the nrusing home bills.

I collect Breitlings. I have a Navitimer made the month and year I was born and the same watch was photographed for their catalogue after I sent it back for a refurb.
I don't get to fly anymore (solo), since I found out I'm diabetic but I still like wearing pilot watches.

Women hold Rado watches very dear. Judging by the fact that my mother went fecking ballistic when I smahed hers as a kid!
Rolex are a bit bling and Omega / Breitling are a bit 'chest wig and medallion'. Fashion watches (Armani, Gucci, Burberry etc) are a bit chavvy.
You can't go wrong with a good TAG. I've also got an old Heuer watch before they merged with TAG - not sure what it's worth but it's class.
