Why discipline the staff, they are in breach of contract, its a great excuse to get rid of the deadwood. Sack them.

Our lass works for RBS and was forced to have a Nat West account when she started.
It's not that big a deal really. Of course RBS don't want you to give your business to a rival bank. What the BBC article doesn't mention is all the perks they get such as preferential mortgage/loan rates, 25% discount on all insurance etc.
If push comes to shove get paid on 1st of the month and move the money to naother bank on the 2nd.

i've always found direct line to be very helpful and the cheapest for me.
Best moment recently was when I changed cars, then the sales man told me the morning of the pick up that i couldn't take the car away unless i showed him valid insurance.
After quite a few phone calls it was clear that the lexus garage wasn't receiving faxes so Direct line arranged for my new insurance docs to be available at the front desk of their office. Of course it helps living in the same city as their call center

RBS are pretty hardcore IMO got lots of mates there, they get the max out everything everybody. Most employees take the cash into there RBS accounts then move it straight out.
As a contractor though you cant complain as they have a very heavy reliance on them in IT and they have the biggest IT investment budget for a bank in the city at the moment so loads of work.

I did a contract for RBS three years ago - supposed to last 6 months, I walked out after 2 weeks. They treat you like an infant, completely obsessed with targets at the expense of quality, staff logging false calls just to hit their targets so they could get their bonus. Worst corporate environment I've ever worked in. Took me ages to get my self confidence back once I left.Originally posted by Sockpuppethttp://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6482979.stm
My list of RBS woes...
* They (natwest) took ages to set up the business account and credit card
* They (direct line) constantly feck about with my motor insurance
* They (northern rock) fecked up the mortgage application
Yeish.

employees of the co-operative also MUST be able to obtain a account at the co-operative bank, or they is sacked. Its a condition of employment. Nevermind that it can take six months to have one setup - 'coz the computers are old pdp-9s - and that they cock up your pension. Ya still gotta get one.
So what's the big deal about RBS?...don't like the sound of 'diciplinary' action...ie: the sack?
