so we went to sea felt, and it was fantastico, we were blessed with fantastic weather
It's a beautiful village, with loads to do, cross country, downhill, the downhill is weak there's only a couple of hills -but that was fine for us as we mainly cross country'd and then one day we rented alpine ski's and trekked up the hill to the "hut" and had some lunch there (to be precise we bought drinks there cos we took our own sarnies) and then ski'd down, since we only downhill in the finest conditions these days I think for the future we will replace downhill with alpine skiing, the village has got a very nice center with nice hotels and shops if you are in to that kind of thing as usual we went for the poor man's all inclusive which means an apartment 100 metres from the supermarket
all in all an excellent week and we like it so much we plan to go back in the summer with the bikes
there were a few Brits there so I guess (cheap) flights go in to Innsbruck which is a stone's throw away

we also do snow shoeing it’s a beautiful thing to walk in the snowy trails - we did it for the first time last year and loved it
we only downhill if the conditions are perfect because in our early fifties any conditions other than perfect are an accident risk
we gently cross country we do about 15km each day at our own pace it’s a beautiful activity
the worst thing about cross country is when the trail goes down hill and around a corner those cross country skis are a nightmare for turning and it always looks like everybody is defying physics when they try to do turns

I have never been a good skier, always slow and careful; but, in my mid 70s, I still ski.Originally posted by NotAllThereManaged to do cross country ten years ago. Tried last year and failed utterly. I think it's the extra ten kilos affecting my balance. Can't do downhill any more due to my feet.
So now we're taking up snow-shoeing.
Enjoy your skiing while you can.
