    As if proof were ever needed that HMRC can do no wrong and HMG endorse everything it does.

    HMRC chief executive Jim Harra is being made a Knight Commander of the Order of Bath as part of the King’s Birthday Honours.

    He becomes the latest in the role to be named a Sir or Dame, following in the footsteps of his predecessor Sir Jon Thompson, as well as Dame Lin Homer and Dame Lesley Strathie.

    Harra was appointed a Companion of the Order of Bath in 2015 and has now been recognised for public services.
