You wouldn't have to worry if the site owners were considerate enough to provide a TBIC ("The Boss is Coming") program format for these pages.
Here's a rough Perl example, using the previous two posts. But obviously they'd need to provide formats in several languages, to suit the requirements of different posters viewing the pages at client sites.

Select user CP.
Select edit options.
Scroll down till you find the Show avatars and show sigs check boxes.
Select save profile.
Job done.
