I was like that, but I must admit I've been humbled by being off for 3 months. At the moment I'd be happy on the rate I'm getting for a long while, even though its thelowest I've had in 3 years.
Sayign that though, my confidence is slowly returning, as I've only been here 3 days and just presented a suite of 24 reports to a prime user today, who ALSO nearly had a bit of pee come out
So who knows - by the time I leave here I might have that my sh*t doesn't smell" thing going on again.

Greed
You always want a bit more don't you ? Had a couple of rough years earning wise, had to go permie, skills value eroded. My expectations of what I expected from working also plummeted, with huge compromises on location and remuneration.
Scored a contract last June and my income has more than doubled, am I dancing along with a basket of rose petals spreading joy, errr no, while I am chuffed to be back on the G-train and enjoying the cash pouring in, I am once again setting all sorts of expectations on any role I might accept next time I am looking. permie salary has jumped 20k and contract rate is this one + 25% (partly provoked by agent doing the 'last minute rate cut' scam and me falling for it...)
Is everyone else always trying to squeeze a bit more out of the situation or are you chilled, happy with the rate, can't be bothered to worry about it ?Tags: None
