my ILS work commands the same rate wherever I am in the country, but not so much outside the UK, unless travel is your thing…
from those of you that don't know what ILS is.

Not working from home, working AT home. York's commutable for me, so it's like being on the doorstep. I'm chuffed to bits

I didn't get the job
My second ever technical interview after uni was also for a database developer at a different company
Interviewer : Have you ever used Oracle before?
Me : No
I: Have you heard of Oracle?
M: Yes... then proceed to tell the interviewer everything i was told in the first interview.

Do you recommend any course I can do to leap into big bad world of oracle apps ?
Hi Andy,
There are loads of courses you can do mate - have a browse round Oracles website. You can get yourself certified as a developer from their courses, but to be honest they mean nothing. They just teach you the tools (which anyone with half a technical brain can pick up). The Oracle schema is what you need experience in, and you cant get that unless you can get an Oracle Apps gig, or you get yourself an install of Oracle Apps from somewhere and teach yourself it.
I came accross a website that sells laptops all fully fitted with Apps and all the development tools (very reasonably priced too) not so long ago, but I've lost the URL now. Might be worth having a hunt around for it so you can learn on your own instead of doing the courses?
Actually I'll see if I can find it for you...
Edit: http://www.appsdba.co.uk/11iLaptop/pricing.html had it in my favourites
