My Point is:
If I am a reputable business and I am to hire a contractor I'd rather hire someone who works for "Serious Name Ltd" rather than "The It Geek ltd"

My CV states I am the director of my company and then I list my contracts as projects below that.
You'd be amazed (or maybe not) the amount of agents who ask whether being a company director was my last contract...

Well yes but I'd hazard a guess most people on there don't "advertise" thier business and the name is just on invoices and people are rarely concerned about it. If you need a decent name after just do a trading as name.

To be fair as long as you're not trading on the name (i.e. want it to be recognised) then choose something simple.
Mine is 2 words of 4 letters. The domain is free and its pretty non descript <colour> <shape> ltd so if I change business I am not thinking damn I'm called IT Services Only Ltd

choosing the co name.
Do you customize your CV with the company information or do you leave as normal –just the person name ?
Do you rather choose a name like Smile Ltd. or Information Technology Consult Progression Group ITCPG ? The long and hard name appeals me but isn’t it kinda funny for a 1 person co ?Tags: None
